Dorothy was born in Loy, Arkansas, June 27, 1924, to D.H. and Ona Whorton. She departed this life on May 17, 2013 in Pryor at the age of 88 years 10 months and 20 days.
Dorothy moved to Oklahoma as a young girl to the family farm on the Grand River between Locust Grove and Chouteau. She married Louis M. Packard on June 1, 1948, and remained committed to each other throughout their lives.
Dorothy helped Louie at Packard Bros. Motor Co. through the years and was very active as a young woman in the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Red Cross. Throughout most of her adult life she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Pryor and was a member of United Methodist Women, the Challenger Class and Walk to Emmaus. Dorothy enjoyed bowling and golf in her early years and throughout her life enjoyed a spirited game of bridge with her friends and baking the very best pies ever. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; she was loved and cherished by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Brenda Packard Lewis of Tulsa, and sons Bill Packard and wife Jane of Tulsa, and Louis Packard Jr. of Pryor; her sisters Cleo Sliepcevich, Norman, OK, Nita Eklund, Rancho Mirage, CA, and brother D.H. Whorton and wife Sue of Springfield, Missouri, 11 grandchildren Winston Lewis, Miles Lewis, Breana Fleak, Brandon Fleak, Brion Fleak, Brett Fleak, Dorsey Packard, Jason Packard, Shannon Packard-Mazzarelle, Amanda Packard and Caroline Packard, 17 great grandchildren Alexandria Lewis, Zachary Lewis, Addison Lewis, Annamarie Lewis, Johnathan Fleak, Dakota Fleak, Kody Fleak, Kaci Fleak, Kory Fleak, Maci Fleak, Abigail Fleak, Dawson Fleak, Trey Packard, Cory Packard, Lexi Packard, Isabelle Packard and Gabrielle Packard
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband Louie Sr.; her sisters Rena Griffith, LaRue Doss and LaVerne Watkins; her brother J. D. Whorton; and her daughter Diana Fleak.
